The geographic epicenter of the Cape is also
its musical epicenter, thanks to the Cape Cod
Melody Tent, Cape Symphony and Cotuit Center
for the Arts.
The Cape Cod Melody Tent in downtown
Hyannis has been a staple of the local
entertainment scene since 1950, when it
became the third musical tent to open in the
country. From mid-June to mid-September, its
iconic round stage draws some of the biggest
names in entertainment.
Fresh off the heels of its 60th anniversary last
year, the Cape Symphony is another cultural
organization with a storied past. Today, it
stays true to its mantra – inspiring joy through
its concerts, giving the region a world-class
orchestra that is more than worth the price of
admission.
Founded in 1993, the Cotuit Center for the Arts
is the relative newcomer of the bunch. The
arts come alive on its campus in two separate
and film screenings are a constant. Throw in
a gallery for rotating art exhibits, classroom
space, a ceramics studio and a new outdoor
stage, and the Cotuit Center for the Arts is the
ideal setting for willing spectators and active
participants.
