PUBLISHER LETTER
FROM THE PUBLISHER
Welcome to the 2023 edition of the Cape Cod Travel Guide!
We’re excited to share the inspiring content inside, including
kid-approved vacation itineraries, car-free travel options,
unique dining spaces, and how to best experience Cape
Cod in the alluring shoulder seasons.
This issue also provides an insider’s look at the region’s
“Capture the Arts on Cape Cod” initiative (artscapecod.org),
a partnership of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, Cape Cod
Chamber of Commerce and Town of Barnstable. Highlighting
cultural itineraries across the Cape, this campaign allows
you to enjoy the Cape from an entirely different perspective.
From historic Sandwich to the artists’ colony in Provincetown,
every town on Cape Cod has artists’ studios, museums,
theaters, music venues and galleries to explore. Discover
remarkable creations by artisans both on and off the beaten
path, including glass blowers, potters, quilt makers and
decoy carvers.
Explore the exquisite grounds of Heritage Museums &
Gardens, or delight in a new exhibit at the Cape Cod
Museum of Art. Take in a world-class performance by the
Cape Symphony or a Broadway-worthy show at America’s
oldest professional summer theater, the Cape Playhouse.
Discover ever-changing artwork and meet the artists
creating it at colorful shanties along Hyannis Harbor. Soak
in the region’s rich history at the Mashpee Wampanoag
Museum, JFK Hyannis Museum, Pilgrim Monument and local
historical societies.
So many artistic adventures await visitors to Cape Cod. We
invite you to come capture the arts, and let it inspire you.
